iconBallet Program

Pre-K & K BalletThe Pre-K & K Ballet  class is one hour in length and meet once a week. The class offer a wide variety of fun things to learn. Imagination plays a key role for all the young dancers. Young dancers in Pre-K & K Ballet learn about the five basic ballet positions and the basic ballet movements. All dancers in the classes learn how to stand, walk, and move gracefully; like a prince or a princess. These classes provide wonderful experiences for working together in a group setting while playing age appropriate rhythmic and creative movement games.

Ballet 1—Ballet 111—Ballet I through Ballet III is a six-year program that focuses on the ballet techniques that will build strength, poise, grace, and flexibility. Ballet I works primarily in first, second, and third positions with an introduction to fifth position. Creative movement and rhythmic exercises is still a key role in these classes. Ballet II dancers will work from first, second, and fifth position with an introduction to fourth. Learning to turn and achieve high jumps is stressed at this level. Ballet III dancers work from all five ballet positions. Building strength, endurance, and gaining flexibility is vital at this level. As all the dancers grow and are challenged, they will gain the confidence needed, not only to advance in ballet, but throughout their life.

Ballet IV/Pointe—Dancers at this level will have experienced their first audition. It is very important that dancers meet all of the requirements in technique, flexibility, strength, and endurance before entering into this class. This is a three-year program that introduces more advanced ballet technique and introduces the dancer to pointe work. Dancers will need to meet with the instructor to determine the best type of pointe shoe needed for their feet.
